Simply Shells Purse

I saw a really cute knock off purse on the Crochetville.org forum. I just had to try making one of my own.

I made this taupe colored purse out of 100% acrylic yarn and lined it with a real cute man in the moon pattern fabric. The main color of the lining is green. It measures 10" wide x 7" tall.

This is available for sale in my etsy shop. I hope you like it.

Christmas Tree Skirt

This picture is too dark to do this Christmas Tree Skirt justice. I made it out of green and red acrylic yarn. This is the round ripple pattern and I did it in three hours.

Blossom in Buff

I created this beautiful headband and submitted it for the 2009 Pattern a Day Calendar. This was my first submission so I am really excited. I have never done a pattern of my own before. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I also didn't like the mouth on this blanket buddy for Emily so I fixed it.

Emily's Dress

I made this dress for my Granddaughter, Emily. It is made with Caron Simply Soft Off White Yarn. The pattern is from coatsandclark.com. The free pattern is called Sitting Pretty.

The stitches are rows of single crochet and treble with a crossover.

It will be a few months before she is big enough to fit into it. It is a size 9 months to approximately 12 months.

I didn't like the way the neckline went so I filled it in a little bit with single crochet. I will post a picture as soon as the batteries in my camera charge back up.

Happy 2nd Birthday to my sweet Grandson Dillon.

Basketweave Bag

I made this for my co-worker's daughter for Christmas.

I didn't have a pattern and I am pretty happy with the way it turned out.

It measures about 12" x 12" with a long shoulder strap. It is the basketweave stitch.

I also lined it with a basic stripe pattern material and crocheted a flap and sewed a button for a closure.

Busy Little Bee

I have been crocheting so much, my hook is smoking! I have so much going at the same time my head is spinning!

I had been working on two ripples when someone posted a pattern for a Jacob's Ladder Afghan and I just had to try it. It looked so cool.

What I like about it is it works up really fast and is not boring especially if you do the overlapping of the chains as you go. Here is a picture of it in progress.

I photographed it with the chains done and undone so you could see how neat it is.

This one is a keeper it will match my spare room bedspread perfectly. The ripples are Christmas gifts.

That's all for now, gotta go my hook is calling me.

Poll

I added a poll to my blog today. I thought it would be fun. I will try to do a new one every month or so.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I won't be on for a few days due to the holiday. I am presently working on these projects:

Ripple Afghan
Round Ripple
Tote Purse

I need to make some fingerless gloves. Gee I have my work cut out for me!

I am hosting Thanksgiving at our house, so I will be too busy to even look at my hook, (maybe sneak some in while meal is cooking though).

We had our first snow yesterday just a dusting but made things a bit slippery. A few accidents out there. People just need to slow down!

In closing, I just want to wish from my family to yours,

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. May you have much to eat, lots of laughter and being a couch potato afterward is totally allowed.

Brown & Aran Round Ripple

I am so happy!!! I have finally figured out this pattern. I tried to do this a few months ago and had no luck at all.

I am making this for my mother for Christmas. I hope she likes it.

I will probably make my granddaughter Emily one also in Soft Baby Colors.

Dog Sweater

This precious pooch belongs to my co-worker Pam.

I made this sweater without a pattern and I think it came out pretty good.

Here are pics of Tammy strutting her stuff!

She looks quite pleased with the results and says "bring on winter baby".

Completed Items

This shawl is made out of Vanna's Choice Charcoal Print and it is very warm. It measures 36" from top to tip.

I finished three projects this past week:

The first is a bunny for my grandson's birthday. He is brown and tan and stands about 13" tall. It is from a 1995 McCall's Crochet magazine. This was my first attempt at the puff stitch and I think it really came out cute.

And last but not least, this baby ghan. The colors are pink, purple, blue, green, white and yellow. It measures 36" x 29". The pictures does not do it justice. Very soft. This and the shawl are for sale in my shop.

Wash Cloth

Today I made up this wash cloth using the sedge stitch. It worked up nicely. I can't wait to use it.

When I get a chance, I will make up a bunch and put them in my Etsy Shop.

I think they will really be big sellers!

Sugar n Cream

Another way to describe the Boston Red Sox Victory in the World Series! Beat the Colorado Rockies in a sweep!

But the real reason I am posting today, is to say how much I love this yarn! Sugar n Cream 100% Cotton. Today I am making dish cloths in the wine color and this color is just magnificent.

Fall has finally arrived with temps around 25 last night. I had to scrape my windshield this morning before coming to work. To say the least, I was not pleased. I am such a wimp in the cold.

WIP Tote

I finished this tote today for my WIP. I used Lion Brand Suede and did it in the basket weave stitch. I am very pleased how it came out.

Just the right size to take to work.

Red Sox are 3-0 right now and they are playing tonight. Could this be a sweep?

Also, the Patriots are undefeated. Great for New England Sports.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I want to remind everyone that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is very important to me as my father died of a brain tumor when he was only 44.

Please take a moment for yourself for breast examination and your yearly mammogram or flatogram as I call it.

Also, please make a small donation to Relay for Life walks in your area.

Cable Purse

I finished this just in time for my sister's birthday this Saturday. I am pleased with it however, I would have preferred smaller bamboo purse handles. I hope she likes it.

3 Day Shawl

Still working on this 3 day shawl and it's been about 5 days. Oh well. I had to frog it because it was just not wide enough.

I will post the end result. Curious just how long this is going to take me.

We are having unbelievably warm weather here in Western Massachusetts hit 80 yesterday but more seasonably weather is on the way.

To be continued...

Cloudy Thursday

I have been running out of time for something for my sister's birthday. I tried crocheting her a shawl, but that didn't work out so I am doing a cable purse for her.

Here are a few samples of the colors I am doing not sure which one will be hers.

I ordered the purse handles online I hope they arrive in time. I also need to get material for the lining.

These pics came out dark I took them on my cell phone. The colors are blue and buff fleck (tan and brown specks).

I have been home the last 3 days with a terrible cold and believe it or not I have not got much crocheting done. A little here and there but I just feel to sick to sit up. Till next time...

Blanket Buddy

I made this new blanket buddy for my new Granddaughter Emily. This was done with Caron Simply Soft Pretty Pink yarn. The blanket was done in single crochet with a shell border. The Teddy Bear was made by a simple Amigurumi pattern I viewed on Crochetville.org.

I also made this boy's sweater made out of 100% acrylic - very warm! I would say it's probably a size 9 to 12 months. I am selling this also for $25. If you would like one in a different color, please email me.

It's been awhile since I took the time to post anything so here goes....

I created this bath puff this weekend and I have to say it was great using it in the shower.

I will make more of them in a color of your choice if you are interested. Sell for $5.
